Content Creator & Video Editor

About this role

Outbound needs content that makes the product feel tangible: real trip examples, before-and-after planning moments, app walkthroughs, short-form video, launch assets, and stories that help people understand why the app is useful.

This is not only an editing role. You will help decide what to show, what to say, how to package it for the right channel, and how the response from real people feeds back into growth and product decisions.

Key deliverables & responsibilities

1. Video production and editing

  • Plan, script, source, and edit short-form videos that show Outbound's product value through concrete travel situations.
  • Turn app flows, trip examples, screen recordings, and user questions into tight demos, explainers, and creator-style clips.
  • Maintain a high bar for hooks, pacing, captions, sound, covers, and platform-native formatting.

2. Content calendar and launch assets

  • Build a weekly content calendar around product moments, travel seasons, feature launches, and real itinerary examples.
  • Repurpose one strong product story into multiple formats across TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, X, LinkedIn, email, and landing-page assets.
  • Coordinate with founder and product work to capture app footage, travel examples, and the raw material needed for useful content.

3. Distribution and feedback

  • Publish, test, and iterate across social channels with a clear read on what is working and what is noise.
  • Track comments, questions, objections, and repeated user language so growth work creates product insight, not only posts.
  • Help create repeatable content formats that Outbound can keep using as the product and audience grow.

What success looks like

  • Outbound can explain itself in seconds through credible, product-led video.
  • There is a reliable publishing rhythm without the content feeling generic, AI-made, or disconnected from the actual app.
  • Content work produces useful signals about which users, stories, objections, and channels are worth pursuing.

What we are looking for

  • 2+ years creating, editing, or producing social/video content with work you can show and explain.
  • You understand short-form rhythm: hooks, pacing, retention, captions, covers, sound, and platform behavior.
  • You can write simple scripts and captions that sound like a person, not a brand deck.
  • You can make app footage and travel examples feel specific, useful, and alive.
  • You are organized enough to manage a content calendar and fast enough to iterate when something starts working.
  • You care about quality but do not need a large production machine before you can ship.

Bonus if you

  • Experience with travel, consumer apps, creator-led growth, launch campaigns, or UGC-style content.
  • Motion graphics, app screen recording, product demo, thumbnail, or lightweight design skills.
  • Comfort being on camera, directing creators, or building a small creator network around a product.
