Delete Your
Account

Last updated - May 2026

You can delete your Outbound account at any time. This page explains how to start the deletion, what happens to your data, and how to reach us if you cannot complete the deletion in the app yourself.

1. Delete from
the App

The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the Outbound mobile app. Open the app on the device where you are signed in and follow these steps:

  1. Go to Profile in the bottom navigation.
  2. Tap Edit Profile.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  4. Choose a reason (optional) and confirm. If you have an active paid subscription, the app shows a warning explaining that cancelling your subscription is handled separately by Apple or Google. You must confirm a second time to proceed.

Once you confirm, the deletion runs immediately. There is no undo step and no grace period.

2. Active
Subscription

Deleting your Outbound account removes your access to the service. It does not automatically cancel a paid subscription billed by Apple or Google.

If you have an active Outbound Pro subscription (including users in a billing-retry or grace period), cancel it directly with your store before or after deleting your account:

  • App Store (iPhone / iPad):Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Outbound → Cancel Subscription.
  • Google Play (Android):Play Store app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Outbound → Cancel subscription.

Apple and Google control all subscription billing, refunds, and renewal timing. Tripoutbound cannot cancel your subscription on your behalf.

3. What Gets
Deleted

When you confirm account deletion, we remove the following from our systems within a reasonable period (typically within 7 days):

  • Your user profile, email, name, and avatar.
  • Your saved trips, itineraries, and activities.
  • Your chat history with our travel planning assistant.
  • Your push notification token and device identifiers.
  • Your subscription record with our entitlement provider (RevenueCat). This stops Outbound from tracking the entitlement; cancellation of billing itself stays with Apple or Google as described above.
  • Your analytics person record (PostHog) when consent for analytics had been granted.

4. What We
Retain

We retain a limited subset of records after deletion only where the law or our payment processors require it:

  • Billing and tax records required by German tax law (HGB, AO). These are stored in archived form by our payment processors and accountants for up to 10 years and are not used to identify or contact you.
  • Security and fraud-prevention logs (server access logs, authentication events) for up to 90 days.
  • Anonymized analytics aggregates that no longer identify you.

We do not retain your saved trips, profile details, chat content, or email address after deletion.

5. If You
Cannot Access
the App

If you cannot delete from the app for any reason (lost device, locked-out account, app no longer installed, accessibility blocker), email us and we will process the deletion manually.

Send a deletion request to admin@tripoutbound.co from the email address registered with your Outbound account so we can verify ownership. Include the subject line “Account deletion request.”

We confirm receipt within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days, in line with GDPR Article 17. If you do not get a confirmation within 7 days, please check your spam folder before resending.

6. Children and
Parental Requests

Outbound is not intended for users under 18. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe a minor created an Outbound account, email us at admin@tripoutbound.co with the account email address and a brief explanation. We will verify and process the deletion at no cost.
